Gas Certificate of Compliance
COCs for property sales, new installations, rentals and insurance. Inspected and issued by a registered gas practitioner, often within 24 hours of the call.
Gas COC in GeorgeSelling a property, adding a gas appliance, or simply want to know your installation is sound? Gas compliance is not optional in South Africa. we are a registered domestic LPG installer who inspects, corrects and certifies gas installations across George and the Garden Route, usually within a day or two of your call.
Four things, and most jobs are one of them: a Certificate of Compliance for a property transfer, a COC for a new installation, an annual safety inspection, or remedial work to bring an older installation up to standard so it can be certified.

Gas COC in GeorgePreventive annual checks on gas lines, regulators, connections, appliances and ventilation. Catches the small stuff before it becomes a call-out or a claim.
Safety inspectionsWhere an installation does not pass, we quote the corrections — line, regulator, cylinder position, ventilation or appliance connection — then fix and re-inspect.

Four situations cover almost every call we get. In each of them the certificate is the proof that a registered person has checked the installation against SANS 10087 and found it safe.
Mandatory before transfer. If the house has any fixed gas appliance, the conveyancer will need a COC in the file. This is where most of the urgency comes from — the sale is signed and the paperwork is the only thing left.
Every new geyser, stove, hob or gas line must be certified on completion by the registered installer who did it. Ours is issued as part of the job, not as an extra later.
Insurers ask for the certificate after a gas-related incident, and some ask for it upfront on a new policy. An uncertified installation is an easy reason to decline a claim.
Landlords and agents in George increasingly want a current certificate on file before a tenant moves in, particularly on holiday lets where a different family uses the gas every fortnight.
The detail on all of that — what gets inspected, what it costs, what happens if it fails — sits on the gas COC page.
Usually same day or next day. Compliance work is nearly always urgent — a transfer date is looming or a tenant is moving in on Friday — so we prioritise it. The inspection itself is short, and where everything passes the certificate is issued on the spot.
“Job done quickly and COC issued right after”
“Team sent out same day”
“Safe and compliant LP gas guidance”
“Back next day to sort everything”
If remedial work is needed the timeline stretches by however long the repair takes — usually a day, sometimes two if a part has to come in. We tell you that upfront so you can give the agent or the attorney a realistic date instead of a hopeful one.
Nothing dramatic. We write down exactly what is non-compliant, explain why it matters, and quote the work to put it right. Then we fix it and re-inspect. Plenty of older George homes need something updated — that is normal, not a failure of yours.
Perished or out-of-date hose, cylinders too close to a window or door, no isolation valve, undersized pipework, a geyser boxed in without ventilation, or an appliance connected by somebody who was not registered.
Itemised, with what is required for compliance separated from what is merely a good idea. You decide. Nothing is done on the day without your say-so, and there is no pressure to bundle in extras.
Once the corrections are done we re-check the installation and issues the certificate. If the fault turns out to be a faulty appliance rather than the installation, the repairs side of the business handles it.
It depends on the size of the installation and how many appliances are on it. A single gas geyser on one cylinder is a quick inspection. A house with a geyser, a hob and a braai point on a double cylinder bank takes longer and covers more. Phone 071 551 2108, tell us what gas appliances the property has, and you will get a price before we arrive. Remedial work, if any is needed, is quoted separately and only done with your go-ahead.
Call 071 551 2108 or WhatsApp us with the property address and what gas appliances are on site. Most compliance jobs are booked for the same day or the next.
