Common non-compliances
Perished or expired hose, cylinders standing too close to an opening, missing isolation valve, undersized pipe for the load, a geyser enclosed without ventilation, or an appliance connected by someone unregistered.
Need a gas COC in George? Whether it is holding up a property transfer, signing off a new installation or satisfying an insurer, we inspect and issues the certificate — often within 24 hours. Registered domestic LPG installer, George and the Garden Route. Call 071 551 2108.
A legal document certifying that a gas installation meets SANS 10087, signed by a registered gas practitioner who has physically inspected it. It covers the installation as a whole — cylinders, regulator, pipework and every connected appliance — not one item on its own. Nobody without registration may issue one.
Only a gas practitioner registered with the relevant authority. we are a registered domestic LPG installer, which is why he can certify as well as install and repair.
That the installation was safe and compliant on the day of inspection: correct pipe sizing and material, sound joints, valid hose, safe cylinder placement, adequate ventilation and working safety devices.
With your conveyancer at transfer, with your insurer at claim time, or in the file the rental agent keeps. Keep the original with your house documents.

Most people find out they need one at the worst possible moment — a week before transfer, when the attorney asks for the gas certificate nobody thought about. The other three triggers are new installations, rentals and insurance.
If the house has any fixed gas appliance, the transfer needs a valid COC. We get a lot of calls from estate agents in George whose sale is sitting on this one document. Say so when you phone and we will treat it as urgent.
Every new geyser, stove, hob or gas line must be certified by the registered installer who did the work. When GasCraft does the installation, the certificate is part of the job.
Landlords along the Garden Route are asked for current certificates more and more, particularly on holiday homes in Wilderness, Sedgefield and Herolds Bay where tenants change every few weeks.
Some policies require a certificate upfront; almost all insurers will ask for one after a gas-related claim. Not having it is the simplest way for a claim to be refused.

The inspection is priced on the size and condition of the installation, so call for a quote based on your setup. What drives the number is simple and we will explain it before booking rather than after the visit.
Remedial work, if any is needed, is always quoted separately and never assumed into the price. Call 071 551 2108 with what is on the property and you will have a figure in a minute or two.
our team works through the installation in a fixed order so nothing gets skipped. Pass and the certificate is issued before he leaves. Fail and you get the list and the quote instead — but you are told what is wrong on the day, not a week later.
Placement and clearances from windows, doors, drains and boundaries. Cylinder security, regulator type and condition, changeover operation where fitted, and hose date and condition.
Pipe material and sizing for the load, joints, supports, isolation valves and anything that has been added on later. The whole line is pressure tested for leaks.
Each geyser, stove or hob lit and checked: flame picture, flame-failure devices, correct injectors for LP gas, and safe clearances to combustibles and cupboards.
Air supply for combustion and, on indoor units, the flue route and termination. Boxed-in geysers with no ventilation are one of the most common problems in older George homes.
Pass, and the COC is written up and handed over on site. Fail, and you get a plain-language list of the non-compliances plus a quote to correct them.
Once corrections are done — by us or anyone else — we re-check the installation and issues the certificate. Usually the next working day.
It happens often, especially in older homes where the gas was put in years ago and added to since. There is no judgment in it. We identify the issues, quote the repairs, do the work and re-inspect — and most of the time the corrections are smaller than people fear.
Perished or expired hose, cylinders standing too close to an opening, missing isolation valve, undersized pipe for the load, a geyser enclosed without ventilation, or an appliance connected by someone unregistered.
Written, itemised and separated into what compliance requires and what is optional. You can have us do it or take it to someone else — the re-inspection works either way.
A failing geyser gets diagnosed properly rather than condemned — see fault diagnosis and repairs.
A straightforward single-appliance installation — one gas geyser on one cylinder — takes around 45 minutes to an hour on site. A larger house with a geyser, a hob and a braai point on a double cylinder bank takes longer because every appliance, joint and clearance is checked individually. If everything passes, the certificate is issued there and then, so the visit is the whole process.
Phone 071 551 2108 or WhatsApp the property address and a list of the gas appliances on site. Most COC inspections in George are booked same day or next day, and the certificate is issued on site when the installation passes.
Preventive annual checks that keep an installation certifiable, so the next COC is a formality rather than a scramble.
