This is a short, plain explanation of what GasCraft George does with your personal information. We collect the details we need to quote and do the work, we keep them safe, and we do not sell them to anyone.
Who We Are
This website belongs to The Finishing Contractor ta GasCraft George, a registered domestic LPG installer based at 40 Pioneer Street, Pacaltsdorp Industrial, George, 6529, Western Cape. You can reach us on 071 551 2108 or by WhatsApp on the same number.
We are the responsible party for any personal information you give us, as that term is used in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What We Collect
Only what you send us. That is normally your name, phone number, email address if you use one, the physical address where the work needs to happen, and whatever you tell us about your geyser or gas installation — including photos you send on WhatsApp.
Our enquiry forms do not store anything on a server. They open a WhatsApp message with your details filled in, which you then choose to send. If you do not send it, we never see it.
We do not collect payment card details on this website.
Why We Collect It
To quote your job, to book it, to get to the right address, to do the work, and to invoice you afterwards. Where a Certificate of Compliance is issued, your name and the property address form part of that certificate because the law requires it.
We may contact you afterwards about the work we did — for example if a part is on order, or to check that a repair held. We do not run marketing campaigns off your number.
Who We Share It With
We never sell your information. We share only what is needed to complete your job: a supplier who is delivering a geyser or a gas cylinder to your address, for example, or an authority or conveyancer where a gas Certificate of Compliance is involved.
Nobody else gets your details.
How Long We Keep It
Invoices, certificates and job records are kept for as long as tax and gas compliance law requires us to keep them. Casual enquiries that never turn into a job are not kept indefinitely — WhatsApp threads and quote notes are cleared out periodically.
Your Rights Under POPIA
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep. Phone 071 551 2108 or send a WhatsApp to the same number and tell us what you need.
We will deal with the request ourselves — there is no portal and no ticket system. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe: access to phones and records is limited to the people doing the work, and job records are not left lying around on site. No system is perfect, but we do not hold sensitive data beyond contact and job details.
